Hi Wonderful Readers,
I have taken a break from the internet because I was feeling like it was wasting my time. Mostly scrolling through FB and IG and I had some big life stressors that required my attention. But also because I just wasn't feeling like writing. Hey, but now I am back. I took a break for two reasons.
First, I was feeling tired of trying to show up and 'put myself out there' for I don't know who or why. Recently I remembered I had decided to make a blog for myself to document my experiences as an artist. My goal is to please myself with the quality of work that I can produce... not to sell myself, to sell a product, or tell a marketing narrative. Too often, in any industry, stereotypes are enforced and unique experiences are left for dead under the infinite rug that is the internet. Sharing a perspective, even if I and my grandma are the only two reading it, is only half my motivation.
Second, I work in marketing. Half of my job is creative design the other half is bearsh*tting information to the clients/customers who we target. It's like a hunting game, we marketers pick a target, devise a strategy to capture the target, then we implement it by showing the lovely mating call which comes in the form of cohesive colors, beautiful design, and click-bait.
Again, I fell into a tangent.
I work in marketing so I often am pushed to think along the lines of 'what gets the most exposure?' 'how can I capture the attention of our audience?'. Plus I am working my ass off to make a wonderful marketing strategy from the ground up, so, I got pretty busy.
NOT THAT YOU CARE WHAT I AM DOING... but ya, know. I'm back on.
